Where business events meet Berlin’s buzz
By Laura Hughes, National of Account Manager at HTS (Hotel and Travel Solutions)
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Crowne Plaza® Berlin – City Centre Ku’damm for a comprehensive site inspection. And I came away impressed!
The centrally located hotel ticks all the boxes for corporate events, international meetings, and business travel stays. From great travel connections to versatile meeting spaces, here’s a closer look. Including what makes the hotel a standout choice for your next event in Berlin.
Getting there – smooth connections from the UK
Travelling from the UK to Berlin is quick and convenient with multiple daily flights from London and other major UK cities to Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER). You can be in the German capital in around 1 hour and 45 minutes. That’s long enough to read a few emails if you’re traveling for work. And long enough to wonder why you packed three pairs of shoes for a two-day trip!
Once on the ground, I was immediately struck by how efficient and reliable Berlin’s public transport system is. I used the U-Bahn and S-Bahn throughout my stay – they were super punctual and incredibly easy to navigate. That’s even with my limited German and an over-reliance on Google Translate.
From BER Airport, the hotel is 40-60 minutes away by train, making it easy for international delegates.
The hotel – central, comfortable, and well-equipped
Just steps from the iconic Kurfürstendamm shopping street, the Crowne Plaza Berlin City Centre Ku’damm strikes a great balance between comfort and functionality. It features 423 stylish rooms (many with city views) all with Smart TVs and indulgent bathrooms. And its recently renovated Kemmons Bar mean you can enjoy an aperitif on the terrace.
The Sleep Advantage® programme is another great touch, offering premium bedding and designated Quiet Zones to help business travellers get that all-important, pre-presentation rest.
There’s also a well-equipped gym, indoor pool, and a Finnish sauna and bio sauna, in case you want to unwind or pretend you’re not still thinking about your inbox.

Meetings & events
13 rooms of flexible, functional space
Where the hotel really shines is its impressive meetings and events offering. With 13 meeting rooms and a conference centre that accommodates up to 1,000 guests for a standing reception and up to 350 – comfortably – for a conference, it’s well-equipped for events ranging from boardroom strategy sessions to full-scale international events.
Some key highlights include:
The Conference Centre (1st floor)
- Capacity: Up to 350 conference guests
- Can be divided into Sections 1, 2, and 3
- Natural daylight, flexible layouts, and an adjacent foyer ideal for coffee breaks (or sneakily checking your emails)
London/Paris room (ground floor)
- Capacity: 100 guests
- Flexible layout, partition wall, and proximity to other rooms
Helsinki/Rom & Amsterdam/Wien (ground floor)
- Capacity: 60 guests each
- Daylight-flooded spaces with floor-to-ceiling windows – perfect for staying focused during those post-lunch sessions
Genf room
- A more private space, perfect for high-focus group work or an event planner’s command centre
- Capacity: 20 guests
There’s a huge range of smaller breakout and satellite rooms too, all equipped with modern AV, large screens, Apple AirPlay, and flexible formats. So, no matter your agenda, you’ll find the right space. You could honestly build an entire week of sessions here and never use the same room twice.

Location perks – iconic Berlin on your doorstep
When the meetings wrap up, delegates are perfectly placed to enjoy the best of Berlin. The Berlin Zoo and Tiergarten park are both a short walk away – great spots for a leg stretch or a reflective moment over a currywurst. The Haus der Kulturen der Welt is nearby for a cultural fix, and the Brandenburg Gate and Berlin Central Station are less than 15 minutes away by U-Bahn.

In fact, there is so much to see and do in the area that guests often opt to go out and explore the city in the evenings and so the hotel restaurant is closed in the evening. But the fantastic restaurant terrace allows you to enjoy breakfast outside on sunny days (and you can’t beat the the daily live cooking station at breakfast).

If you’re planning a conference or a team retreat, or looking for a solid base for corporate travel, Crowne Plaza Berlin City Centre Ku’damm is great on all fronts, with its central location and lots of meeting space choice
And if nothing else, the sauna and a pint of German beer are reason enough to book a recce…
