Environmental impact
HTS’s sustainability efforts help us to:
- Reduce our carbon and resource footprint by streamlining operations, cutting waste, and identifying and encouraging greener alternatives
- Build trust by demonstrating transparency and accountability in how we run our business
- Deliver value for clients increasingly requiring suppliers to align with their ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) goals
- Drive innovation as sustainability pushes us to find smarter, better ways of working
One of our proudest milestones on this journey is achieving Greengage ECOsmart certification. In fact, we have recently been re-certified for another year – with an improved score!
What is Greengage ECOsmart?
Greengage ECOsmart is an independent certification awarded to organisations that demonstrate robust and credible sustainability practices across their operations. It covers areas such as resource management, energy use, waste reduction, and readiness to address climate-related challenges.
To earn ECOsmart status, businesses must undergo a rigorous evaluation of internal policies, processes, and performance.
HTS's ECOsmart certification
In October 2025, our business was awarded Greengage ECOsmart certification for a second consecutive year. Our original certification in 2024 was recognition of our ongoing commitment to embedding sustainability into everything we do.
This certification affirms that we:
- Operate with resource efficiency e.g. optimising energy use and materials
- Run digital-first team workflows to reduce paper waste
- Use renewable energy sources (where possible) in our offices
- Have comprehensive recycling and waste management programmes
- Promote staff training and awareness, enabling team members to make sustainable choices daily
- Embed sustainability into our corporate culture as a long-term mindset
As our managing director, Julie Shorrock puts it:“We’re proud that HTS has achieved the Greengage ECOsmart certification … from reducing waste and energy consumption … to encouraging a culture of sustainability among our staff … we continually seek ways to lessen our environmental footprint.”
And, as Greengage’s CEO commented:
